4-Pole to 7-Way Wiring Conversion Kit for 2011 Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2011 Ford F-150 XL 3.7L V6 pickup truck. it came with tow package pre-installed but only a 4-wire connector. i have added an in-dash OEM controller and the 2 fuses to the under the hood fuse box as directed and included with the controller. is there a 7-wire pigtail that i can purchase to replace the 4-wire? any suggestions or assistance you may provide is greatly appreciated and i thank you in advance.

If your 2011 F-150 has a pre-installed 4-pole harness (which probably has a rectangular connector on the truck side like the one on parts # C56110 and # HM11140735; see the linked photo, please) then you can convert that wiring to a 7-way using kit # ETBC7.
This kit has all the parts needed to upgrade the 4-pole setup to a fully functioning 7-way. You will retain your current 4-pole and plug it in to the included 7-way adapter in the kit, then make a few more wiring connections for the additional circuits on the 7-way, which include brake controller output, 12V power and reverse light signals if you want these.
An installation article and video for the # ETBC7 are linked for you. You will still have 4-pole connection capability after installing the kit.
