Question:

Just purchased a used 21’ pontoon boat, which has a single axil trailer with 10 “ wheels. Should I be concerned?

It all depends on what the weight rating is for your tires/wheels. For example, the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" Galvanized Wheel # AM3H490 has a load range of E (1,650 lbs at 90 psi) which means that altogether the rating is 3,300 lbs and should be okay for your application.

You also need to make sure that your axle and suspension is rated high enough for the weight of your pontoon. You can find the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) of your boat trailer stamped on the frame or on a sticker somewhere near the tongue and then you can use a commercial scale to make sure you aren't exceeding the weight rating.

If you can let me know what brand tire you have and what the load range is as well as how much your trailer weighs fully loaded I can help you determine if you need to upgrade your tires/wheels or not.
