What are the Reasons my Pontoon Trailer Tires Keep Having Blowouts  

Question:

i cannot keep a tire on my pontoon trailer more than four trips of the 10 inch rating in florida before it blows out my trip one way is from archer fl to stienhatchee fl about give or take 75 miles will these tires i just ordered from your company last a while longer im loosing lots of money on tires. 205/65-10.

There are a few possibilities that could be causing your trailer tires to blowout.

First, the air pressure could be to high or to low. You would need to ensure you are inflating the tires to the maximum psi. Trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger tires. When they are underinflated the thicker sidewall causes excessive heat build up.

Secondly, the tires could be overloaded. You will need to compare the gross trailer weight to the capacity of the tires to determine if they are overloaded. Also make sure the wheels and tires are rated appropriately for your trailer.
