Troubleshooting Trailer Hitch Install Where Install Hardware Feels too Large to Thread In
Question:
I had trouble with two of the bolts not going all the way in. I hate to use an air impact if not necessary. Is this normal? It feels like they are bottoming out against something solid. I had to use a lot of effort to get a couple of the others to get snug and worried about breaking the bolts. What size are the bolts? Thanks

Most likely you had some corrosion or dirt in the threads of the weldnuts of your 2015 Acura MDX which was causing the bolts to not be able to thread all the way in. This is a pretty common issue which affects the install of trailer hitch hardware. I attached a couple help articles that detail how to clean them for you to check out as well. It's very common for it to feel like the install bolts are just too big to install as well.
