What Could Cause Trailer Tires Jumping Off Ground When Empty
Question:
Tandem trailer tires off the ground with empty trailer

If the tires on your tandem axle trailer are leaving the ground during travel when it's empty there are a couple of things I recommend looking at.
The first thing that comes to mind is the trailer's suspension. A stiff suspension can definitely create a rough ride with a lot of bounce especially when the trailer's completely empty. I recommend making sure that the leaf springs are appropriately rated for the trailer and not way over capacity (if you have 3,500 pound axles the springs' combined capacity should be 3,500 pounds as well).
If you find that replacements are needed I have attached a link that will take you to our complete selection.
Another factor that could contribute to this kind of ride is your travel speed. Most trailer tires have a maximum speed of 65 mph. I recommend checking the sidewall of your tires to make sure you are not exceeding their limit. If you are going over rougher terrain it's also a good idea to take it slow to cut down on this bounce. Also check the air in the tires to make sure they aren't over-inflated according to the max psi spec on the tire's sidewall.
