Will the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit Fit a 2018 Ford F-150
Question:
I have Reese rails 30035 from previous truck but install kit will not fit my 2018 F150 because holes in rail end up on side of bed emboss. Will Husky 4-bolt bracket kit - bolting through center of rails - work with center holes of Reese rails? Center distance of holes is 34.00 inches. Reese install instructions for 2018 F150 call for rear edge of rails to be 28.75inch from rear edge of box. Husky install says 26.50inch - that is 2.25inch discrepancy. Is there an explanation for difference?

I have two options for you to use part of the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP30035 that you have now. The first option and the best one is to obtain the Reese Quick-Install Custom Bracket Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP50087 which is a custom fit so no drilling into the frame whatsoever is required. The other option if you don't mind drilling to save a bit of money would be to use the Reese Mounting Bracket Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # RP58531 which will fix the issue you are having with the bed embosses. I have attached an install video on the custom side brackets for you.
The Husky Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches part # HT32858-686 will not work for you unless you remove then entire kit you have now and drill new holes as the base rails do not sit in the same spot on the bed as you mentioned. The manufactures will each use what they fell is the best place to mount the rails which is not always the same.
