What Base Plate Kit Do I Need To Use the Roadmaster Blackhawk Tow Bar on a 2011 Honda CR-V

Question:

I have the Roadmaster Blackhawk All Terrain 8000 lb towbar I am purchasing from a friend and wanted to make sure this base plate will work OK with that towbar. I am pretty sure he also has the safety cables but I will need the lighting kit and a braking system. Thanks,

I believe you are referring to the Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 All-Terrain Tow Bar part # RM-422 which is compatible with the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit part # RM-521559-4. However, so long as it is a Roadmaster Tow Bar it can be used with this kit.

For a flat-tow wiring harness, I recommend the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles part # HM56300 because it's a custom fit so no splicing is required. For a supplemental braking system, I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251 because it is a one time setup and everything will be hidden once installed.

Please note that the owner's manual for your vehicle states that fuses must be pulled while in tow so in order to do this without physically removing the fuse each time we have the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass part # RM76511. I have attached a few install videos on the above parts for you as well.
