Should Trailer Tires be Inflated to Their Max PSI

Question:

HI if my TTs tires are rated for say 1,400lbs at 50PSI and I never have a load of not more than say 2,000lbs should I reduce tire pressure to load chart for that tire. say 35PSI for 2100lbs? better ride , better for tire wear? your thoughts

Expert Reply:

On any trailer tire such as the Taksmaster # TR20514 you always want to inflate the tire to the maximum cold psi. For example, on this tire it is 50 psi, which is the same as your tire.

Doing this will give you the best performance, allowing the tire to wear more slowly and give you optimum gas mileage.
