How to Find the Cold Side of a Brake Light Switch

Find cold side of brake light switch on 2010 Chevy express

Expert Reply:
If you are looking to find the cold side of a brake light switch on any vehicle, including a 2010 Chevy Express Van you need to simply find the wire that carries power only when you press the brake pedal down and at no other time. This is what will be connected to the red wire of the brake controller.
You will need a circuit tester for this and if you do not have one the very handy Cordless Circuit Tester # PTW2979 would be my strong recommendation due to how easy it is to use.
