Is Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM Prep Package Safe to Use
Question:
Just received the Adapter for my Ram puck system box. As per directions, got it to a tight fit on the bed. The question is, its only held onto the bed by those 4 tiny turn locking nuts. Is this system really as safe as the old style bolt to the frame system. It just seems too easy and the locking bolts only grab about 3/8 inch in the pucks. I have not yet pulled my 5th wheel....but soon.

The Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package # RP30154 is absolutely safe to use. These products are put through testing to ensure this and are used by a great many people.
The adapter, as you know from the directions and installing it in your 2018 Ram 2500, locks into place once you turn the handles and use the pin. There are also Heavy Duty tee pins required if you are going to be towing anything heavier than 20,000 lbs but you can use them in place of the standard attachment tee pins if you like, though it isn't necessary unless you go above that 20,000 lb capacity.
