Picking Out Replacement Bearings and Seals for Boat Trailer with Disc Oil-Bath Hubs

Question:

i have a 2003 ranger 195vs. the trailer is a 2003 fabrique par, ranger trail division. 4500 pounds. it has disc brakes and is single axle. The hubs have oil bath lubing. I have owned the boat since new and have always changed the oil every year. This time it seems water has gotten in because the oil is milky. I am thinking about replacing the seals and bearings. What kind do i need? also i need new brake pads and new calipers. It seems the calipers are stuck. What kind of lubrication do you recommend for the hubs?

I really wish there was a way to determine what bearings a trailer needed without actually pulling the wheel off and checking, but there isn't. The only two solutions I have for you would be to remove the hubs and get the numbers that are stamped on the bearing or for you to remove the hubs and use a digital or dial caliper to measure where the bearings and seal ride (see pic).

With that info I can help you figure out what you need. I attached a link down below that shows all of the bearings we offer as well.

To pick out the calipers/pads I'd need to know the diameter of your rotors and the brand of the assemblies as the fits in that regard are brand specific.

I prefer grease hubs over oil-bath for one reason. If your grease seal goes bad you can typically make it home without a problem to fix it. If a seal goes out on an oil-bath setup the bearings most likely will damage themselves from heat before you realize the seal is bad.
