When your Lippert Ground Control 3.0 # LC358590 has a reading that says "Comm Error" it is referring to the communication between the controller and touch pad. You will need to check your harness to ensure it is connected properly and there is no damage or corrosion. If it all looks good then you'd need a new control module part # LC304136.

Actually we figured it out. We were sold 2 12 volt batteries instead of 6 volt so there was 24 volts going to the keypad. We rewired the batteries so that the voltage was 12volts and we are now good to go

I just had the same error message and was all set to cancel the trip and order a new controller. But then it dawned on me that the controller has no off switch, so it always has power when the power cables are connected to it. It's a computer, basically, so I thought, what do you do when your computer gives errors sometime? Reboot! So, I pulled one of the power cables off of the controller, waited a minute, then put them back on. The error reset (went away forever) and I was able to do everything needed. I had already checked all 4 of the wires going from the panel to the controller and knew they all had continuity. If you get the comm error and know you have 12 volts to the controller and have tested the comm cable, try pulling a power wire. Might work for you too, save your trip and over $[XX] for an un-needed controller. It sure made my day when my idea worked.

I have this message only when trying to use battery power we just replaced the batteries in the RV With the RV plugged in I keep getting an error code for the rr jack, to retract all. Are these related? What do I do. The batteries are completely charged and everything that should work in the RV on battery power is working.

I would make sure you're still getting 12V to the controller after replacing the batteries. It's possible that something just isn't fully connected. Let me know what you find and we can go from there.

@ChrisR that is because the system has lost communication with the hall effect sensors on the jacks. Extend them more than six inches and hold retract for them to go back up automatically so that the sensors can talk to the controller. This error code should reset. The code might keep popping up as the jacks retract so just keep hitting retract until they go up. If code comes up again you with have to check wiring to make sure the controller is communicating with the jack. Or jack is damaged and not moving freely.
