Does Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180 Require Installing Fuse in Vehicle
Question:
Is the 30a fuse a minimum or a maximum? Can I use it on a 40a fused circuit?

The Curt Echo part # C51180 would not require you to install a brake controller fuse in your 2018 Ford F-150. It does not integrate with the brake controller wiring of your truck at all. It bypasses all of that and draws power through the 12 volt accessory circuit instead. Normally this circuit is protected with a 40 amp fuse on vehicle wiring.
