How To Help Keep the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Secure While Towing
Question:
Ive heard the Curt Echo wireless brake controller tends to come out of the plug because of the weight and length with the seven pin socket from the trailer? If so, what is the solution to keep it in place? Im thinking about purchasing one but concerned about this issue that Ive read in reviews.

The majority of the complaints with the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 not being secure have a lot to do with the factory trailer connector they are being used with. These factory trailer connectors do not hold the same levels of tolerance as some of the aftermarket trailer connectors. The Curt Echo could fit perfectly inside the trailer connector on one 2015 Chevrolet Colorado without any play and then poorly on another 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The solution to fix this is to get an aftermarket trailer connector that are made to a much greater tolerance, I recommend the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket part # HM40975 which will have a tight fit with the Curt Echo.
There is also the option of the Autowbrake Electric Brake Controller part # 3430001 if you still don't trust the Curt Echo.
