Parts Needed to Install 7-Way in 2001 Ford Expedition with Factory 4-Flat
Question:
I have a 2001 Ford expedition xlt 2wd and it already has a 4 way connector going into the factory harness but I need a 7 way and I noticed that this kit looks like it has 2 unused wires at the trailer end of the 4 way is this so you can install a 7way? If so what wire would I be missing to complete the 7 way plug?

Since your 2001 Ford Expedition already has a factory 4-flat you will need the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole # 37185.
Your '01 Expedition should have the factory wiring already run to the connector on the frame rail so you will need to splice in the adapter; for extra wire you can use # 12-1-1 along with butt connectors # 05732-2.
I have added a link to a help article about installing a brake controller in a Ford like your '01 Expedition which I strongly recommend reading. It will explain how to find and wire the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole # 37185 with a factory installed 4-way.
