Recommended Weight Distribution System for Travel Trailer Behind 2010 Toyota Tundra 5.7L 4x4

Question:

I have a 2010 tundra 5.7 4x4. I also have a 32 ft bumper pull camper that has a dry weight of 7350lbs. Do I need to downsize campers if I wanted to pull it 1200 miles? Most of the trip is pretty flat but about 50 miles would be mountains. Im probably about to buy a sway bar. Thanks in advance

Toyota doesn't freely give the towing capacities of each vehicle online. They basically state that your truck can have a towing capacity of 4,800 lbs to 10,800 lbs. The best way to determine your capacity, which likely is enough for what you are seeking to do is to look at the GCWR (Gross Combined Weight Rating) of your truck and trailer listed on the door frame sticker and then subtract your GVWR.

For the dry weight of your camper, I do recommend using a weight distribution system like the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 12K GTW, 1.2K TW # RP66560. This is an excellent system that will accommodate your total tongue weight range of your camper without any issue. It has integrated friction pads similar to brake pads to help control the sway and keep your trailer in line with your truck. I've attached and article to help further.
