Installation of Trailer Wiring on 2019 Honda Pilot

Question:

I have installed trailer hitch e99044 and now looking to install wiring harness 118760 in 2019 Honda Pilot. The hitch wasn't a problem but can you tell me about how to install the 4 flat wiring? I'm a bit of a novice. Thanks so much.

Installing the trailer wiring on your 2019 Honda Pilot is a pretty straightforward process; if you can install the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e99044 on your Pilot I'm very confident you can also install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118760.

To install this harness you simply need to open the tailgate and then open the access panel in the storage compartment on the driver's side and insert the connector into the tow plug harness. You will then ground the white wire by drilling a small hole and using the provided screw.

The 4-flat part of the harness will need to be routed through the grommet hole in the jack storage area to the center of the rear of the vehicle; you will also need to mount the connector's black box module and then simply insert the provided fuses. These will be in the fuse box, under the hood of your Pilot near the driver's side; the fuses - which are included - will need to be placed in positions #2, #3, and #11. The accompanying photo shows what you will need to find.

When you have it installed I recommend using Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 to keep your 4-way secure.

If you're using the Tekonsha # 118760 mentioned above, make sure all the included fuses are fully seated in their correct location inside the fuse box. Also make sure the white ground wire coming from the converter box is securely attached to a clean, bare metal surface. If you checked this and still are having issues, can you let me know how you're currently testing the harness? Are you hooked up to the trailer and not getting the turn/brake signals, or are you actually testing the 4-Way on the Pilot with a circuit tester?
