Recommendation For Brake Controller and Installation on 1990 Chevrolet 454SS Truck  

I have a 1990 454SS Chevrolet Truck that is of course a 1500 body style, pretty much like a Silverado and just bought a double axle equipment trailer with electric brakes on all 4 wheels not yet wired, but I can route the wires as needed. I have some primary goals for setting this up: 1 Be cost effective as possible 2 Have a proportionate module that does exactly as the vehicle brakes do, preferably a direct interaction with the movement of the pedal and not just reading whether brake lights are on or not. 3 Make the trailer itself versatile, having both 4-flat and standard seven wire plug, and also having the same set-up on the truck. This is in case I haul a different trailer with only 4-flat or the trailer is being hauled by a different truck that only has 4-flat. It would also be great to have reverse lights on the trailer. I have seen various set-ups that match various parts of my goal, but not one that matches all of them. Is there such a system like this? I especially would like the proportionate controller to follow my brake pedal position instead of inertia created by deceleration. I think I can better fine-tune something like that to my needs since the position of the pedal itself always has a constant ratio to how much deceleration is being created and how much braking of the trailer will be needed. I also dont want time-delay. One of the primary purposes to the electric brakes is to aid in a quick stop. A time delay wont help me stop faster. My SS truck does not yet have any type of trailer plug on it but I did see a tail light harness, maybe a special harness could go in between that to provide brake, signal, reverse, and running lights. Im already adding brake lights to the trailer and the kit came with a 4-flat harness for the trailer and truck. What Id like to do is start out with the most complete system that matches my goals above. Any recommendations/wiring diagrams/suggestions appreciated. I do of course plan to purchase as much as possible from this site, though Im open to items that may be available elsewhere. Ive already added wire frame clips to my checkout but want to purchase everything at one time if possible. Thank you!
