Installing New Trailer Wiring Connector on 1999 Chevy Tahoe
Question:
I purchased a 4 flat connector for my 99 Tahoe. The old connector was missing the single post. There’s 5 wires on the truck side, a dark green, a light green, a yellow, a brown, and a thick white wire. Where does the light green connect?

The truck wire colors don't give me enough information to assist. You will need to test the wires for function. I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993. It is possible that the 5th wire you see is for a reverse light function for a 5-way trailer connector, but you'd need to test to confirm.
Your Tahoe should already have a factory trailer connector behind the bumper like you can see in the attached video for the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55319.
