Longer Ball Mount Recommendation with Around 12-13 inches Between Ball Hole and Pin Hole

Question:

GENTLEMEN I see from the answered questions that your Hidden Hitch 80232 measures 16inch from center of pin to center of ball. My present mount measures 9inch which seems to be about the standard and it will not allow me to open my tailgate with the trailer attached. Got a new Colorado to replace my old Dakota it has a wider tailgate. By my measurements, a 12inch spacing would give me the clearance I need, without sticking the ball out a full 16. Do you have a ball mount, Class 3/4, 1inch hole, low rise all similar to your 80232, in the 12-13inch range between pin and ball? Or will I need to get the 80232 and cut 4inch off of the end and re-drill the hole...... By the way, etrailer has been a GREAT help in the past.....you guys are the best.

I have a great solution for you. The Curt ball mount part # D-26 is 12-5/8" long from center of pin hole to center of ball hole has rise of 3/4 inch, and a drop of 2 inches and has a capacity of 7,500 lb trailer weight. It's also considered Class III.
