Hi Paul,

The original Yakima OnRamp has been discontinued, and there are a number of different upgrades that come with the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # Y88DJ.

The most important for most people is probably the capacity; while the original OnRamp had a 66 lb per-bike capacity, the LX has an 80 lb per-bike capacity. The load rating doesn't get higher than that, so it can be used for even the heaviest of ebikes. It will also work with wheelbases up to 54", which is 4" longer than the original could.

Finally, the OnRamp LX # Y88DJ is able to carry bikes with tires up to 4-1/2" wide, compared to the 3-1/4" wide tires the original OnRamp was able to handle. Simply put, the newer version of the OnRamp is a more robust rack that can carry a wider variety of bikes than the first version.
