Testing the connector under the dash on your 2010 Dodge Ram is possible. Hold the connector under the dash with the locking clip up. Now, use a circuit tester, # PT89ZR if needed, and touch the black lead to the top right terminal (ground) and the red lead to the bottom right terminal, this should show 12 volt power for power to the brake controller. Next, touch the red lead to the top left terminal, this should show 12 volt power when the brake pedal is pressed. The bottom left terminal on the truck is the trailer brake output and will not have power, until a brake controller is installed and sends a signal to activate the trailer brake circuit. I attached a drawing I put together of the adapter plug for the 2010 Dodge Ram. The connections in the drawing are labeled by color, just remember that when testing the plug on your truck the wire locations will be the mirror image of the drawing I attached.
We carry the correct brake controller adapter for the 2010 Dodge Ram Pickup, it is the Tow Ready Wiring Adapter, # 3021-S. This harness will work if your brake controller has blunt cut wires coming out of the back or if you want to cut the plug off of the wires exiting the back of the brake controller.
I checked the CURT website and they do offer a brake controller harness for the 2010 Dodge Ram, but it is specific to the connector on the back of their brake controllers. We do not carry the CURT brake controllers or their harnesses at this time.
