Constant Power on Pins Inside 4-Way When Installing T-One Harness on a 2015 GMC Acadia
Question:
My Dad is trying to install kit 118270. He has plugged in the connector and installed the fuses and relays and says that he detects 12 volts on all the connectors at the trailer plug without any of the lights being engaged. Does he have a fuse in the wrong place, or could he possibly have ed a relay the wrong way in the fuse box?

I spoke to my contact at Tekonsha about the issue you are having with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118270 on your 2015 GMC Acadia. They said they have heard of this issue before but it is not very common. For starters, you will need to switch the orientation of the relays if they do not look like the ones in the attached photo. Unlike most relays, the pins are positioned in a way that will allow them to be installed incorrectly so you will need to check this first.
If the relays are orientated correctly then you will want to remove all of the components that came with the kit from the vehicle which includes the harness, fuses, and relays. Once this is done you will need to probe the pins inside the vehicle side port that the harness was plugged into. If these pins are hot then there is an issue with the vehicle and you would need to take it to your local dealer for troubleshooting.
