Replacement 7-Way and 4-Pole Combination Trailer Connector for 2017 Volkswagen Touareg

Our 2017 Touareg came with factory 7-way trailer wiring but we just got second trailer, a small utility type with just basic lights on the flat type connector. I hate using wiring adapters and you guys know why. Is there a replacement connector that has both types of hookup?

Yes, we offer a replacement trailer connector for your 2017 VW Touareg that has both the 4-pole flat and 7-way blade type connectors in one housing.

You can use Hopkins part # HM40975 or part # HM40950 depending on your mounting preference. Both use a round U.S. Car type plug-in connection at the back. One of these mating connectors is shown in the linked photo. Part # HM40975 can be used along with no-drill mounting bracket # 18140 for easy installation on your hitch cross tube.

Either one will function best in the long run if you apply a protective layer of dielectric grease # 11755 to the plugs before installation. The grease blocks entry of water and dirt that over time can degrade the electrical connections.
