Recommended PSI for Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 Load Range E Trailer Tire
Question:
Karrier Load Star Trailer Tires ST235/80R16 Hi, I am trying to determine the right tire pressure for this trailer tire. The Tire indicates 90PSI Max. What is a good Tire Pressure for Normal Loads or Empty Trailer I am looking for a baseline non-heavy load Tire Pressure. Thank you very much !!

Most trailer tires, including the Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10248 that you referenced, should actually always be inflated to their listed maximum psi regardless of the trailer's load.
The maximum load of 3,500 pounds for this Kenda Karrier Tire is dependent on it being inflated to the max 90 psi. Inflating it to below this number will essentially reduce the tire's capacity to an unknown number which can easily lead to you overloading the tire with the trailer's weight without realizing it. Overloading a trailer tire will cause excess heat which is the most common cause for a blowout.
I do not recommend inflating the tires on your trailer to a lower psi when the trailer is empty or less than fully loaded. You should always have them inflated to 90 psi. Doing this will lead to a longer lifespan for the tires with less wear and a much smaller chance of a blowout.
I have attached a great article on trailer tires that you might also find helpful.
