Does a Ball Mount and Hitch Pin Come with Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 75338, 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Im curious - I was expecting to receive the metal rod / pin that connects the Draw-Tite to the Ball Mount. Is this an additional part that you guys sell? This was for a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Thank you

For Class III trailer hitches like the Draw-Tite, # 75338, the ball mount, pin and clips is not included because a Class III hitch does not require a specific ball mount. Lower Class hitches do require a specific ball mount so for many of them we will include it.
There is always a recommended ball mount for a Class III hitch but in order to determine the right one for your needs you will want to measure for the rise or drop required to tow the trailer level. What you will do is measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening and compare that to the distance from the ground to the bottom of the coupler when the trailer is level. measurements need to be taken on level ground.
If the receiver is higher, the difference between the 2 measurements is the amount of drop you will need and if the coupler is higher the difference is the amount of rise you will need. I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains the measuring process.
The recommended ball mount we have listed for the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee is # D-4 that you have referenced. This ball mount has a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop. If you find you need more rise or drop based on measuring we have many different ball mounts which I have linked for you.
For a pin and clip, the most basic is # PC3. If you would rather have a locking pin go with # e98880.
