Is Stud Adapter Needed with 2018 Grand Design Reflections 337RLS and Torklift Revolution GlowSteps

Question:

I have a new 2018 Grand Design Reflections 337RLS. I purchased the Torklift A8004 GlowStep Revolution 4-Step and was told that I would probably need the A8020 Spacer Kit as well. I am taking the unit down to my local RV repair facility and was wondering that, after looking at my currebt original installed 3-step system if I would still need to purchase the Torklift Vertical Stud Adapter Brackets TLA 8022. I dont think I do BUT would like to know your thoughts on this as there is some bracket that hangs down from the trailer bottom that the current steps are bolted to.

The GlowStep Revolution vertical stud adapter bracket # TLA8022 is made specifically for trailers without vertical brackets that extend out perpendicular from the trailer's frame or "predrilled step frame outrigger mounting brackets" to install the GlowStep Revolution. We don't have a way to determine if your trailer has the need for these or not. You'd have to get under the RV and check to find out. If there isn't a step there now most likely you do need these though.

Im interested in the Torklift 8004 steps. But after watching the install video, the old steps were removed but they installed the vertical stud adapter, 8022. Just how exactly do I know if I need this adapter? My trailer is a 2015 Grand Design 350M Momentum with the pull-out aluminum steps that scissor in/out.Thanks in advance

You should see two vertical brackets that hang down from the frame (one one each side of a step assembly) where your existing steps are/were or where the steps would go below the doorway if there's not one already installed. If you don't see anything there, then the Stud Adapter # TLA8022 will be needed. I see in the video you mentioned where we removed the factory steps, but still installed the Stud Adapter before mounting the TorkLift Steps. This is likely because the factory brackets just didn't offer the right spacing - the TorkLift # TLA8004 has a 27-1/2" wide mounting bracket.
