What is Fifth Wheel Towing Capacity of 2016 Toyota Tundra Crewmax

Question:

I have a 2016 Tundra Limited Crewcab 5.7Ltr that has a max payload of 1270 and a towing weight of 10,100. Im thinking about buying a 1/2 ton towable 5th wheel that has a hitch weight of 1250, uvw 6800, and gvwr 8800. Do you think ill be safe and can pull this efficiently with what i have? If so what hitch and setup would you recommend. I love my tundra but want to be safe on the road and not bog it down and dont really want to get a new truck.

Since your 2016 Toyota Tundra has a capacity of 10,100 lbs towing and your trailer would weigh up to 8,800 lbs when fully loaded you'd be totally safe. As long as you are under the weight capacities you're fine.

Since we know your Tundra is a Crewmax we know that means your bed length is 5-1/2 feet which makes towing a fifth wheel trailer a bit more interesting but definitely possible. You'll need the Demco Hijacker Autoslide part # DM8550040 as it's the only slider hitch that will slide back far enough for you to have enough clearance with such a short bed. For a rail kit you'd then want the part # DM8552020-71 which is a custom fit for your truck and would work well.
