Recommended Mounting Position for CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers CE27620
Question:
My boat appears to be about 6 inches wider in the middle than it is at the back. Should these guides still be mounted about an inch from the boat? Is there a chance the boat would get stuck between them launching or retrieving, or are they flexible enough to allow the boat to move between them?

Expert Reply:
CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27620 are intended to provide only a visual guide for aiming your boat as you run it up onto the submerged trailer. They are not intended to make contact with the gunwales on each side of the boat to physically guide it onto the trailer. You'll want to position them so you have enough room for the widest part of your boat (the center) to easily clear them.
