NEED TO KNOW IF I NEED A SLIDER HITCH OR NOT FOR MY 3500 SHORT BED. LOOKING AT TWO OF THE COMPANION HITCHES. FIXED AND SLIDER. WHICH DO I NEED AND WHICH DO YOU RECOMMEND. MY TRUCK IS A NEW DODGE RAM 3500 WITH CREW CAB AND PREP PACKAGE IN SHORT BED.

Slider hitches are designed for short bed trucks like your 2018 Ram 3500 with the factory rail kit to give you the needed clearance to make a tight turn. Otherwise the cab of the truck and the trailer nose will hit each other before a tight turn can be made.
