Recommended 5th Wheel Hitch For A 2021 Ram 2500 With Puck System And Turning Point Pin Box

Question:

First: thanks for your assistance..youve have been so helpful in the past. I would like your recommendations for a hitch: The towing vehicle is a 21 ram 2500, 6.5 ft bed, with the OEM 5th wheel/puck system installed. The 5th wheel is a Grand Design 150 series Reflection 295rl. It is equipped with a turning point pin box. I believe the GVWR is approx 11,000 lbs. Im most interested in a non sliding hitch and one that is somewhat easy to remove. I am open to other options as well. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Because your trailer has a Turning Point pin box and your Ram has a 6.5' bed I do recommend going with a fixed hitch and using the Turning Point as a rotating pin box to give yourself enough turning clearance. With you also having a puck system the best option is going to be the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600.

It's a bit overkill in terms of capacity but it won't require an additional adapter to connect to the pucks . B&W is known for their quality in the RV industry so you'll be getting a hitch that's built to last and give you a comfortable ride. The head of this hitch can easily be removed by pulling the two pins that lock it into the pivot arms. This will allow you cut down some of the weight to make installing/removing the hitch easier.

Since you're using a rotating pin box you'll also want to pick out the correct wedge # SWW-06 to lock the king pin into the jaws of the hitch.
