Replacement Power Awning Drive Head for Dometic Component Awning with Bad Motor

I have a 2008 Keystone Everest model 295. I believe the original motor is a Dometic component. Will this motor fit my awning? It was struggling lately to retract and today it wouldnt even extend without manual assistance.

I reached out to my contact at Lippert and the Solera Power Awning Replacement Motor # LC266149 has not been tested with Dometic awnings for gearing compatibility, so they cannot confirm a fit. What you can do is replace the power drive head assembly with the Solera Power Awning Plain Drive Head, White # LC266146. If you want the matching idler head you can use # LC266147.

We offer two different styles of idler heads for the Solera awnings, the power version part #LC342148 and manual version part #LC266147. These both come with a white housing.

Yes the gear pack part #LC78VR does work with both the motor kits you mentioned of #LC266149 and #LC373566.

With Solera awnings you will need to have the awning roller wound a total of fourteen times for proper spring tension. It could be yours was over-wound or maybe the motor is getting weak or your battery isn't in the best shape.
