Recommended Towing Setup for 2018 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Do I have to cut into the rear plastic bumper itself to install this hitch or just cut a small area in the protective panel underneath Do I need the wiring harness part 118648 that calls for a 12-volt wire to the fuse block up front or should I choose another wiring harness

On your 2018 Toyota Sienna, the bumper does not get trimmed at all when installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13343. Only the underbody panel gets trimmed. I've attached a video to assist.
The wiring harness needed depends on the trim model. If you have the SE trim then you will need the harness # 118498 , where all other models will use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118648. You will need to run the 12V power wire to your battery, but this kit comes with what you need and drawing power directly from the battery for this powered converter will help protect your vehicle wiring from overdraw. I've attached an article to help with routing that power wire.
If you don't have a ball mount, I recommend the B&W Tow & Stow # BWTS10035B. Not only does this come with two hitch balls and the ability to adjust the ball 6-1/2 inches, but it also has a really nice stowable feature when not in use to protect your shins and give a clean look. I also recommend the locking hitch pin # e98882 to protect your investment.
