How to Determine Correct Trailer Wiring Harness for 2019 Toyota Highlander
Question:
trying to pick out a wiring harness for my 2018 Highlander. how do i know if i have the tow package? i've already selected the etrailer hitch.

Take a look at the rear of your 2019 Toyota Highlander in the spare tire compartment. You should be able to find a white connector like you see on the right hand side of the picture I've attached. If there is nothing plugged into that connector then you don't have the tow package. If there is something plugged into it, it should be a wiring harness with a converter (like is shown) which means you do have the tow package.
If you do have the tow package I recommend the Hopkins harness, part # HM11141825, which plugs into the converter you already. If you don't have it, instead use part # C56217 which plugs into the first connector I mentioned and provides you with the converter and the 4-way trailer connector.

2018 Highlander XLE - As far as wiring goes, I looked at my fuse box and the trailer fuse between the two 7.5 amp fuses is empty, so I assume that there is no tow package installed. Would this be a correct assumption?
