Will Loadstar 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP56 Fit an Old Trailer With 7.00-10 Tire Size

Question:

I have an old trailer from the 1950s, it has the original tires on it, on the side in big numbers it says 7.00-10 am I correct that this means 7inch width x 10 inch height rim. I would like to buy 4 Kenda am1hp56. My question is will these tires work for my application?

You are correct, the 7.00-10 is the tire size and it designates a 7 inch wide tire on a 10 inch diameter wheel. The overall height of the 7.00-10 tire would be around 21.2 inches.

The Loadstar 205/65-10 K399 Bias Trailer Tire, Load Range E, part # AM1HP56, you have referenced is 8.4 inches wide and 20.4 inches tall. It has to be mounted on a 6 inch wide wheel. The maximum load for this tire is 1,650 lbs at 90 psi.

You will need to check the width of your wheels and make sure they are 6 inches wide for the tire to fit. Also, you will want to make sure you have clearance for the extra 1.4 inches in the width of the tire and if the maximum load range of 1,650 lbs ( x 4 tires) will work with the gross weight of your trailer.

I also have the 205/65-10 mounted on a wheel like the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10 Inch White Wheel, part # AM3H460, or the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10 Inch White Wheel, part # AM3H480. The difference is the # AM3H460 has a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern and the # AM3H480, has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.

I am including a couple of links to FAQ pages on trailer tire sizing and trailer tire information.
