5th Wheel Trailer Hitches for a 2018 Ford F-250 4x4 Both with and without Factory Prep Package

Question:

Everything Ive read tells me or new truck comes with the necessary equipment to tow a fifth wheel, minus the gooseneck. My husband tells me it wasnt factory installed. How can I determine if its there or not.

On your 2018 Ford F-250 4x4 look in the bed. If you see the 4 pucks in the bed like in the picture I have included then you do have the factory 5th wheel prep package. If you just see the indentations where the pucks would be then you do not have the prep package.

If you do have those pucks then you can use a hitch that mounts directly in them. For a long bed truck you can use the following:

# BWRVK3305
# C16036
# RP30922
# DM8550033

If you have the prep package and a short bed truck you can use one of these sliders:

# DM8550038
# BWRVK3370
# C16545-16020
# RP30144

For the above 2 lists there are other hitches that also fit but I ran out of space in the parts links (below). But all of the options can be seen by going through our fit guide.

If you do NOT have the puck system then you can install an underbed mount kit that is similar but it will be specific to the related hitch. For example for a short bed you can install B&W system # BWGNRK1116-5W and then you would need slider # BWRVK3400-5W. Or you could go with Demco kit # DM8551009 and an auto-sliding hitch # DM8550022.

For a long bed you could use the same B&W kit # BWGNRK1116-5W but with a fixed hitch, # BWRVK3500-5W. Or you could go with the Demco kit # DM8551009 and fixed hitch # DM8550032.
