Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Bike Rack Compatible with 2019 Honda Fit
Question:
Good evening, We are buying a 2019 Honda FIT from always transporting our bikes in a van!. I am considering the S64683. I have three questions at the moment that is: 1. I dont currently have a hitch. Which is the ideal size for the# S64683? 2. What is the actual weight of the rack? Along with the recommended limits of the bicycles - ours will be lighter - is there a weight limit in order to not damage the car? 3. Is this rack a good fit for the FIT?

For your 2019 Honda Fit, we currently have only one trailer hitch receiver available that is compatible. I recommend the Curt # C11406 which is a Class I trailer hitch. This hitch is rated for up to 200 lbs tongue weight, but you will want to check your owner's manual to see if Honda has a further restriction. Curt requires stability strap # 18050 with any non trailer load on their Class I and Class II hitches, so you will need that strap to keep Curt's warranty intact.
There is a 2-3/4 inch measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of the bumper, so most bike racks will be compatible as long as they are rated for Class I hitches. The Swagman Chinook Rack # S64683 is rated for Class I hitches and has a measurement of 6 inches from center of hitch pin hole to closest part of the wheel carrier folded up when not in use and 12-1/2 inches to closest part of wheel carrier folded down. This will work great with your application.
The weight of the rack is 47 lbs and it is rated to hold bikes up to 45 lbs each. You can carry the weight capacity of the rack and still be under the capacity of the hitch with this combination. This bike rack comes with the hitch and bike locks to further secure your equipment.
