Reverse Lights Stay On After Installing Mopar Trailer Wiring Harness on 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
After installing factory Mopar 7 pin wiring harness , the reverse lights illuminate and will not extinguish. I have moved ground to different locations but it does not matter. As soon as the wire harness is connected to positive battery post, the reverse lights illuminate.

It sounds like the center post on your 7-Way is set up for auxiliary 12 volt power rather than reverse lights on your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. You can remove the wire to the center terminal on the 7-Way and splice it into a reverse light wire behind one of the tail lights.
Is this happening on a trailer you are towing or the Jeep itself? If it is on the Jeep then it sounds like there is a short that is jumping from the 12 volt circuit to the reverse light circuit and backfeeding somehow to the reverse lights on the vehicle.
On some Jeep vehicles a Jeep dealer has to reprogram the vehicle computer so that the wiring harness/trailer connector will work properly. While I haven't heard of that being an issue on a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited it is still a possibility.
