Brackets for Adding Additional Bunk Boards to Magic Tilt Galvanized Kayak Trailer
Question:
Hello, I have this trailer: it has two bunks that run 90 degrees to the trailer. I typically load my cargo in a soft sided cargo carrier and strap it to one of my Kayaks. My old trailer supported this. Problem is, there is too much space between my bunks. I need to add two bunk boards to go lengthwise to the trailer. Like the solution Malone has with the bunk kit MPG561. The problem i have is that the u-bolts wont secure to the existing 2/4 Bunks and trailer unless I can bolt the bracket to the trailer. My thought was to bolt a Vertical Bunk bracket CE10160GA to the existing bunk board on the Trailer. Attach the swivel bracket CE10200G to the Vertical Bunk Bracket. Then couldnt I attach the new bunks to run the length of the trailer to support the Kayak it would look something like like the Malone bunk kit? Im open to any ideas. Thanks,

The problem is that your bunks need to face a different direction than what standard boat trailers have so it's hard to have a solution since your setup is unique.
That said I don't see why you couldn't use CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10002G-4 attached to the rails front to back on your trailer so that could could mount the bunks. For a U-bolt kit you could then use the part # CE15283GA-4 to secure the brackets.
