Replacement Tires for a 2016 Keystone Carbon M-347 5th Wheel Trailer
Question:
We purchased new a 2016 Keystone Carbon 347 toy hauler and on our last camping trip a fellow camper asked if we still had the original tires on it? The obvious answer was yes, they look new still, and have less than 2000 miles on them. The camper GVWR is 17000 LB. It has 2 axles rated at 7000 LBS each, dont understand that for a 17000 LB GVRW? The camper info sticker shows the rims as 16x6, and tires as ST235/80R16E. The actual tire info shows Max single 3520 LBS and Max dual 3080 LBS. My Question: 1 - is this the correct tire? 2 - Should I replace these tires with a load range F or G tire? 3 - If I go with a F or G rated tire how do I tell if the rim is rated for the higher rated pressure? thank you for any help.

According to my research, your 2016 Keystone Carbon M-347 came with 235/80-R16E tires. Therefore, the ones you have on there now are the correct size. However, based on the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) they do appear to be rated rather low at 3,520 lbs per tire or 14,080 lbs total. Because of this I recommend upgrading to a 235/80-R16G tire like part # PRG80235 which has a 4,080 lb per tire capacity or 16,320 lbs total. This will be the highest weight capacity we have for a tire this size.
In order to determine the weight capacity of the wheels on your trailer, you would need to contact the manufacturer with your VIN. However, most of the 16" diameter x 6" wide wheels we carry with a 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern meet the above capacity which means yours should too. If they do not then you can replace them with part # TTW660865WS4 as long as you have a 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern. This wheel is rated for 4,460 lbs per wheel or 17,840 lbs total.
