Tips On Routing Brake Controller Wiring through the Firewall on a 2016 Honda Pilot
Question:
I have a 2016 Honda Pilot and just ordered the ETBC7 wiring harness. It is REALLY cramped around the steering column area. I don’t see any existing grommets and really hardly any areas that are just bare metal to drill through. I’m having trouble figuring out the best place to get the wires through the firewall there. Any hints?

It may be easier to find either a grommet or wiring harness that goes through the firewall by looking at it from the motor side on your 2016 Honda Pilot. It may not be obvious where the wiring is going into the engine compartment when looking at it from inside the vehicle.
If you cannot find or access a location from the engine side then drilling is your best option. You just have to be careful not to drill through anything on the opposite side of the firewall. This may require pulling back some carpeting and/or other panels to get to the metal of the firewall.
