How Does Brake Controller Install in 2017/2018 Dodge Durango with Factory 7-Way

Question:

Thank you so much for the information. I’m assuming the connection point is behind the hush panel beneath the dash. I’m so glad I found your online advice.

I wasn't sure if you meant 2017 or 2018 Dodge Durango but the good news the fit info applies to both of them. Since you have a factory 7-way at the rear of your vehicle all you need to install a brake controller is the correct install harness part # TK93VR which plugs into a port under the dash.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P3 Brake Controller part # 90195. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes. This will be the last brake controller you buy. It can easily be transferred to future vehicles as well.

Do you know if this requires the dodge dealer to add sales code to computer to work or since after market its good without?

Your Durango's computer should not need to be flashed or re-configured for it to accept the brake controller.

Yes, the connection point is under the dash. I attached a picture on how to find it.
