Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2009 Toyota Sienna AWD

Question:

I am looking to add a hitch that will work with my Sienna to pull an r-pod. Thinking WDH and anti-sway, 7 wire electric, something to get the ball higher, maybe the air suspension supports for back. Can you recommend a series of parts that would make sense for this configuration and goal?

First thing you'll need is a trailer hitch installed on your 2009 Toyota Sienna like the Draw Tite part # 75237 which is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and is compatible with weight distribution. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well. For a weight distribution system you'd want the Reese Strait Line part # RP66082 which has a 200 to 600 lb tongue weight range and features only sway control available that works to fight sway before it starts. If you flip the shank of this to the rise position you can get additional height needed to tow your trailer level.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.

For wiring you'll need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118304.

From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.

With the weight distribution system setup properly you really shouldn't need to add suspension enhancement. But if you wanted to go that route we have the kit # AL60732 which is a confirmed fit.
