Video Transcript for Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade for Thin Shade Ready LCI Entry Doors Review

What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Lippert Thin Shade replacement. So this is gonna be just the shade portion, this isn't the full window kit. But if your window is ready for the thin shade, you can install this, and now you have some coverage for privacy. People can't see in, and it also blocks the sun. Let's check it out.

If your window is thin shade ready, then you can install this in here and have a shade to operate. Now, if it's not, you can still get the kit to fully replace your window, so you can add that together. But today we're just focusing on the shade itself. Easy to slide up or down. You can stop at anywhere you need to.

So if you just want some partial sun blockage but still wanna see outside the window, you can do that. If you want full blockage, you can bring it all the way down. It's really easy. Something I like about this shade is that it's inside the door, so it's not something that's hanging on the outside that's gonna hit against the side of the door if the wind hits it or every time you move the door. It's all internal here, and it works really good along this track it's on, plus it's not gonna come out of this window, so it's gonna stay in place all the time.

Here on the inside, I wanna show you how much blockage of the sun that the shade actually does. Not much is coming through at all. It lights up just a little bit, but you see there's no rays of sunshine getting through, so it's completely blocked. Overall, I like the thin shade. I like how easy it is to bring up or down.

I like that it stays in line on the track inside the door. Nothing hanging out here, making noise, or someone's gonna worry about traveling with it hitting against the door all the time. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, and I hope this helps.

Easy install and works perfect. I installed it upside down so I can lower it just a bit to more easily see who is at the door.

by:

It's working just fine! I was a little put out that it didn't come as standard equipment on my trailer but that isn't Etrailer's fault. Etrailer carried what I needed and shipped within a good time frame so that I had it before our first trip last year with our new trailer. Oh, and I installed it myself while my hubby was working on something else. I will definitely order with Etrailer again.

This shade works well for the intended purpose. Installation was easy and looks great when opened or closed. The only challenge is when opening the shade the folds can get out of sorts. We plan to keep it closed so it's not an issue for us.

by:

Good quality material , easy install on pre-fit entry door window. Only issue the latches are fairly hard to latch shade into place

by:

Super simple to install - both doors done in less than 10 minutes! They provide that little extra sun shade that is so often needed along with the night privacy.

by:

It doesn’t stay hooked in spot. It does it’s job but I am forever hooking it into its spot. Is there some way to get it to stay?

It looks like you can adjust the tension on the cords which make it harder for the blinds to move around. I attached a link that has the instructions with diagrams to make it easier to follow.

This shade fit out 1994 5th wheel travel trailer entry door. Works well by blocking out heat & light from sun.

by:

This was perfect for our needs. e trailer is the place we go for all of our RV needs

by:

Works great! Keeps sun from shining through trailer door and provides privacy!

by:

Loving that shade. Our new 5th wheel camper has the same shades on all windows but the door had a plain window “ready” for this shade. Easy to install and works great!! Thank you.

by:

Very easy to install.

by:

Good product with the exception of the bottom sill end caps pushing the sill sidewalls out enough to make it a little tough to snap under the holding tabs, but with a little jockeying it around it went together. I am most pleased with etrailer's website packed with info and installation videos of their products and great customer service.

by:

Great product. Well designed and build quality. Five minute install on thin shade ready window. Fast shipping.

by:

it works great!

by:

Works as intended. Took less than 5 minutes to install, even with not reading the instructions, installing backwards, then actually reading the instructions and installing it again.

by:

Works as it should. Too bad the manufacturer didn't make it standard. Piece of cake install.

the thin shade was so easy to install and I will sure enjoy the privacy now! thanks for the prompt service!

by:

These shades are excellent! They are easy to install, open and close easily and provide blackout when closed. The arrived quicker than I expected.

by:

Honestly, not as useful as I thought it would be. I find the fact the screen being in the way makes this product had to use but, it does it's job.

by:

It fits. And my wife loves it. Thank yo u.

  • Can Lippert Thin Shade Fit Lippert Slim Shade Ready RV
So I checked with Lippert and they told me that the Slim Shade and the Thin Shade like the part # LC786037 you referenced are the same thing, and since you have the Slim Shade this would work perfectly with it.

  • Is the Lippert Replacement Window Frame with Seal for RV Entry Doors Compatible with the Thin Shade
The Lippert Thin Shade you mentioned # LC786037 is designed for 15" x 24" windows and the Lippert # LC363369 is a 12" x 21" window. Unfortunately there is not going to be a way for you to make this work without either using the black Thin Shade Complete Window Kit # LC806621, or using the # LC363369 and sourcing your own small venetian blind to cover the 12" x 21" window in that kit. Lippert currently does not make the Thin Shade kits in anything other than black.

  • How To Adjust The Strings On Item # LC786037
OK, yours is a thin shade but it is a different model than the thin shade part number you sent originally. The Lippert Thin Shade Complete Window Kit Item # LC806621 is a complete window kit which does not have strings. The Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade Item # LC786037 is for Thin Shade ready LCI entry doors which does have strings. I contacted Lippert and the only way to adjust the strings is to gain access to the knots under the bottom panel. The two levers at the bottom need to be...

  • Would Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade # LC786037 Fit 2005 Lance Camper Door
I found some pictures online of your 2005 Lance camper door and it appears you have the standard RV door window dimensions which are 11-7/8" wide x 21-1/2" tall so yes the Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade # LC786037 would work.

Yes, the Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade for Thin Shade Ready LCI Entry Doors # LC786037 will fit your trailer with the sticker that says "Thin Shade Ready," as that's exactly what this shade was designed for. As you can see by the cut out of the instructions, this shade will fit right inside the frame, giving you an easy-to-use shade for privacy or to keep the hot sunlight out. • Does the Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade Require Drilling During Installation
The Lippert Thin Shade Window Shade # LC786037 is only designed to fit on RV doors with a Thin Shade ready window on them, but as long as you've got a door with that window on it it does not require any holes to be drilled. I've attached a photo of what you should look for on your existing RV door to determine if this will work for you or not. If your RV door is not Thin Shade ready and you have a door with a window cutout 15" wide x 24" tall you can replace your existing window with...

  • Recommendations RV Slide-Out Awning & Shades
Hello, thank you for your question. Window shades are sold separately from slide out awnings. To determine the proper size slide out awning for your motorhome you will need to measure the total width of your slide room from the outside including the flange then add a minimum of 5" (2-1/2" each for the left/right side overhang). You can have greater than 2-1/2" overhang if you want, but it is suggested that you do not go any less. Please look at the the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning in Black,...
