What is the Difference Between 7-Way RV and Utility Trailer Connectors

Question:

7 pin plug styles RV vs Utility it seems that RV style is the only one available in my area, ...but i think its by default. my vehicles seem to be wired for the RV style, as well. i dont tow RVs, only equipment, car, and utility trailers. am i overthinking it? is it somewhat standard, now, to just wire everything to the RV style?

The only difference between 7-Way Utility and 7-Way RV is the color of the wires. The pin outs are the exact same so either would work just fine with the other. If you check out the picture I attached you'll see that the functions are all the same.

Hi I purchased the traditional cord for my rv; however the blinkers aren’t working on the rv. The running lights and break lights are.

@Rocky That is odd since the blinkers should be on same circuit as stop lights. Does your RV have separate amber turn signals by chance?

@JamesonC yes there are Amber signals that run on the side of the RV
