3,500 lb Disc Brake Axle Kit Recommendation for Trailer with Drum Brakes
Question:
I have a single axle boat trailer that currently has drums. The trailer says its disk brake ready, but supposedly i need some sort of adapter to increase brake pressure on the existing brake actuator. For simplicity sake, Id like a complete kit. Do you have a kit that is complete for a single axle that also includes the dust caps for an ez-lube axle? Also do your kits include a new wiring harness as my current wiring harness is a 4-pin and Im guessing Ill need to convert to a 5-pin?

Hydraulic drum brakes use much lower hydraulic pressure than disc brakes. The difference is 1,000 psi for drum compared to around 1,600 for disc. Because of this you have to switch actuators or possibly only the master cylinder if you have a common actuator.
That said, if you have a 3,500 lb trailer axle the disc brake kit part # T4843300 would fit it and work well. I attached an install video for htis kit for you to check out as well plus a help article on the subject.
If you have a different axle capacity let me know and I'll see what you'd need.
For a 5-way to use to wire to the electric lock out of this kit you'd want the # A25W5B.
