Recommended Kuat Transfer 2-Bike Rack on 2017 Lexus NX 300H
Question:
Can the distance between the first bike and the car be adjusted on this rack? It looks like the distance between the two bikes can be adjusted, but its not clear whether the first bike position is fixed or not. My husbands bike has wide handlebars, and from the videos it looks like there might not be enough clearance to open our 2017 Lexus NX 300h hatch with the bikes loaded. I was thinking that if we could slide the cradles away from the car a little it might work for us. The other option would be to put my bike, which is much smaller, in the closest position, but I thought that was not recommended.Kuat Transfer 2-bike rack Thanks!

The Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Platform Rack # KU74FR does have adjustable positioning for all the wheel trays. You are not able to adjust the distance from your vehicle or the distance between the bikes. The wheel trays simply adjust in or out to better fit the wheel base. The distances away from the vehicle when folding for storage will stay at the 6 inches from the center of the hitch pin as will the closest part of the carrier.
It is recommended to put the heaviest bike closest to the vehicle, but as long as your bikes are under the 40 lb each capacity, you can switch them if it is a better fit for your vehicle.
