Will Kuat Transfer Bike Rack Fold Up on 2015 Subaru Outback With EcoHitch Trailer Hitch Installed
Question:
I currently have a Yakima Ridgeback and find it difficult to load bikes onto it so Im opting for a tray style. I would like to use the Kuat Transfer 2 . Im looking for ease of use and something that will tilt down if I need to get into the cargo area. We typically only carry 2 bikes. My only concern with the Kuat is will it be too close to the trunk when folded up? I currently have an EcoHitch on my Outback. Are there any others I should consider if trying to stay in the $ range?

You made a really smart choice because this bike rack you are considering is top-quality and to answer your question, the Kuat Transfer 2-Bike Platform Rack # KU74FR will be able to completely fold up when installed in the EcoHitch Trailer Hitch # 306-X7266 on your 2015 Subaru Outback.
When we test fit the EcoHitch on a '15 Outback we found it measured 2-1/2" from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper, and when folded up the Transfer measures 5" from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack.
I recommend going with the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR.
