Installing Electronic Brake Controller in 2017 Chevry Express 3500 With Factory 7-Way
Question:
So, I have a 2017 3500 express van with factory heavy duty tow package. I recently purchased a Brake Controller but I cant seem to find out the true answer to one question. Is my van already wired under the dash for a brake controller? I find a lot of conflicting information on this. I thought it did so I purchased a controller but now I cant find the wiring. I do have the factory install 7 PIN and 4 at the rear.

You are most likely finding conflicting information on your 2017 Chevy Express Van Brake Controller wiring, because there are many different options for the wiring that have been found on the same models and years. I'm happy to assist with the information we have found to make this easier for you.
Some models will have the connection wiring taped and tucked under the driver side floor mat up towards the firewall.
Some models have the blue brake output wire already run from back to front located under the dash near the emergency brake pedal. On these models, the power wire is not run to the battery, so you will need # 10-1-1 and a circuit breaker # 38630 to run the 12V to your controller.
I've attached a few videos to assist. If you find that you don't have the wiring run to the 7-way for your brake controller, then I recommend using # 5506 for the complete wiring kit.
