Recommended Crossbars for Open Wood Framed Trailer to Carry Kayaks

Could this device be used to attach a square steel tube instead of wood? If not, is there an equivalent device to attached steel or aluminum beams to E-track? Application: trying to find a way to mount a metal tubes as crossbars on an open wood framed trailer in order to attach kayak cradles.

The E-Track Wood Beam Socket for Standard 2" Lumber # 59149 will most likely work with metal tubes as crossbars as long as they are screwed into place in the same way as the wood is intended to be attached. You will need to determine the correct weight capacity for your custom application.
